Pop music duo THE YEAH teams up fine artist/painter Jackie G (vocals and guitars) and graffiti artist DJ Wade (beats and more). Their poppy, folky, electronic sound is influenced by Japanese pop, reggae, glam-rock, hip-hop, and country, appealing to an audience ranging from spunky 5 year-olds to discerning indie rockers. Even mature adults with a penchant for sing-a-long regularly get their groove on to THE YEAH's self-titled debut album. Sweet melodies and hip-hop production techniques meld in this 1999 masterpiece recorded in a Brooklyn loft onto a hand-me-down 1/2 inch 8-track tape machine. Mixed at Sony Music Studios on the big boards, this album is deep with ear candy. Cover art by photographer Matt Ducklo.
While THE YEAH's second album, "II" was completed in 2001, the tapes were misplaced after an eviction following a loft party gone wrong (actually it went so right The Yeah were thrown out). Hopefully someday these tapes will turn up and "II" will see the light of day.
